THE WOODLANDS, Texas - May 8, 2006 - Royal Equipment, Inc., a leading provider of warranted, remanufactured heavy
equipment for the surface mining industry, today announced the delivery of
a remanufactured Liebherr Model KL-2450, 240-tonne haul truck to Griffin Coal.
The truck was remanufactured in Perth, Australia and will be used in Griffin
Coal's Western Australian mining operations.
"This delivery is the first of what we hope will be a long term relationship
with Griffin Coal to supply remanufactured haul trucks for their mining operations,"
stated David A. Kintigh, Chief Operating Officer for Royal Equipment. "With
the ongoing shortage of heavy equipment for the surface mining industry, it
is even more practical to utilize remanufactured products. Remanufacturing
extends the life of critical capital resources and that improves shareholder
value."
"The remanufacturing process upgraded this truck to the design equivalent
of a Model T-262. Some of the enhancements included: new MTU Model 16V4000
power package, upgraded GE airless control system with Statex III, conversion
to GE seven (7) step extended range retarding, and all appropriate Australian
safety upgrades. In addition, the Royal Equipment remanufacturing process included
extensive testing of all major components as well as final assembly and test
to ensure the highest quality finished product.
Royal Equipment specializes in the remanufacture of large-capacity haul trucks
used in surface mining operations all around the world using a proven process
that ensures high-quality. Royal Equipment has remanufactured more than twenty
(20) 240-tonne Liebherr and Komatsu haul trucks in Australia in the last two
years alone.
